Discover L’Atelier at the Toronto Campus

Your children will learn to lead with creativity and innovation. They’ll unleash their ideas. Experiment. And build.

The four-storey, 37,490-square-foot L’Atelier is a bold architectural statement that connects the school’s built environment with the natural world. L’Atelier will house our new 350-seat auditorium, music wing, multi-media and design studios, green lab, added classrooms and the new TFS Wellness Centre.

“Twenty years ago, parents just like us came together to build the spaces we can’t imagine TFS without… That’s why I’m so excited about what we get to build together through Can’t Wait! ”

The Auditorium

The new auditorium will be a hub for community, creativity, and culture at TFS — a space for ideas to flourish and students to create lasting memories.

The auditorium’s flexible design ensures the space can seamlessly adapt to every school occasion. The stage, professional lighting and tiered seating will elevate all events from drama, dance, and music performances to assemblies, ceremonies, and academic lectures. And with a push of a button, the seating can retract completely and create an open and flexible space that TFS students and faculty can use for any class or activity.

The Music Wing

The new TFS Music Wing will amplify the school’s music program and inspire students to compose, perform, and create with unbridled imagination.

The new music wing is a series of purpose-built ensemble spaces and individual practice rooms. Students will enjoy these new acoustically optimized rooms for music classes and co-curriculars, like our orchestra and jazz band ensembles. School productions can now feature our TFS students through an audio link between the music wing and auditorium that will allow school musicians to perform as a pit band for live performances.

The Multi-Media Studio

The new multi-media studio will allow your children to build their presentation, language and communication skills alongside their expertise in digital literacy and design thinking. Students will use this space and its cutting-edge equipment to apply their learning while mastering the tools and tactics that drive today’s media. TFS students will further develop their public speaking, creative problem-solving, and teamwork skills by exploring different subjects through the multi-media lens.

The Green Lab

The lab’s multiple sinks and communal tables give students ample room to study and experiment with live materials. Students can use the lab and its equipment to analyze water quality, investigate local invasive and native species, or grow plants and saplings to gain practical insights into the many natural systems around them.

The lab’s large windows offer greenhouse-like conditions while framing a stunning view of the Don Valley ravine to link lessons with the local environment seamlessly.

Rooftop Terrace

The new rooftop terrace is a lively outdoor space that will be perfect for students and faculty to socialize, work on group projects, and take lessons into the open air.

After school, the terrace can become a green gathering space for co-curricular clubs and councils. TFS students will enjoy the inspiring setting for meetings and brainstorming sessions. Parents, staff and faculty can also use this space for get-togethers or transform it into a gorgeous rooftop venue for school events.

Design Studio

The new TFS Design Studio is a dynamic learning environment where innovation meets exploration. Students from the Junior and Senior Schools will use the studio to immerse themselves in practical engineering, robotics, and mathematics applications. They will prototype and test their ideas using design thinking and creative problem solving.

The Wellness Centre

None of us can thrive without feeling good about ourselves — from our physical and mental health to our ability to navigate big feelings and life’s transitions. The same is true for our students. That’s why we are proud to build the new Wellness Centre at the heart of our campus. The Centre will help students develop healthy habits, emotional resilience and academic success.

The new TFS Wellness Centre will bring together experts and registered health practitioners to deliver a complete model of care that promotes cognitive, psychological, social and physical well-being among students and staff.
